GOD SUFFERING?
Not everything in the Scriptures is obvious to understanding. The sixty-
One great biblical mystery that still confounds mortal thinking people is God’s ordained
use of suffering. Type in the phrase, “Why do we suffer?” on Google and you will
receive 231,000 results. The next overworked question is, “Why does God allow people
to suffer?” This one brings 3,290,000 results on the internet. There must be a lot
of people asking these questions.
There is an answer, but most don’t find it because it is one of God’s mysteries evidentially
designed to perplex carnal minds. Logic does not work here, as it also does not with
most of the ways of the Almighty God. In fact, most of God’s ways seem wrong to the
intellect since His ways are diametrically opposite of mans’ ways. The spiritually
unenlightened judge the cross of Christ as foolishness, but God declares the wisdom
of this world as foolishness.
A better question is not, “Why does God allow people to suffer?” but “Why did the very Son of God have to endure suffering?” Rational thinking wants to believe there had to be a better way to save the world.
Obviously God did not.
